Sud-Ouest SO-4050 Vautour II series
This is the start of a very lengthy project to detail the operational histories of the entire series of 149 French twin-engined interceptors and fighter-bombers from the 1950s and '60s. The Vautour II (French for "Vulture") was rather
obsolete by the time they entered service with the French Air Force, and they were mostly known for their time with the
Israeli Air Force in the wars of the 1960s.
There were actually three distinct production models of the Vautour II, plus a number of prototype and preproduction
examples, but I've lumped them all together on one page for the sake of convenience...
