Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star series
This is the start of a very lengthy project to detail the operational histories of the entire series of Lockheed P-80
Shooting Star jet fighters of the 1940s and 50s. This was, in many ways, America's first operational jet fighter, serving
in combat in Korea alongside the more familiar F-84. In 1948, those that were still flying were renamed F-80s, but I'll
list them under their originial designation here.
There were four distinct production models of the P-80 Shooting Star, with 1,714 built in total...
