Douglas F4D Skyray series

This is the start of a very lengthy project to detail the operational histories of the entire run of Douglas F4D Skyray single-seat naval and marine jet fighters of the 1950s and 60s. These very fast-climbing, radar-equipped all-weather fighters were yet another nearly forgotten jet that came and went so quickly in active service that few people remember it today.

There was just one distinct production model of the F4D Skyray and a total of 420 were built...
