Douglas F3D Skyknight series

This is the start of a very lengthy project to detail the operational histories of the entire run of Douglas F3D Skyknight naval and marine jet fighters of the 1950s and 60s. These harmless-looking 2-seat planes served mostly as night fighters, seeing service in the Korean War, and later as electronic warfare platforms in the early stages of the Vietnam War.

There were two distinct production models of the F3D Skyknight and a total of 265 were built...
