Avro CF-100 Canuck

Last updated on: May 13, 2013

693 of these two-seat all-weather interceptors were built, Canada’s only domestically-produced jet fighter to enter squadron service. Roughly comparable to the F-89 Scorpion, they served in air defense units for a decade before being phased out for newer planes. A batch was transferred to the Belgian Air Force as well.

While all 693 marks are listed below in numerical order, the two main versions of the Canuck were the 278 gun and rocket armed Mark.4s and the 332 rocket only armed Mark.5s.

This is a work in progress and any help would be appreciated. Information on these planes is rather difficult to locate online and this work will remain incomplete unless you the readers offer to help me. Please feel free to pass along any information that you might have.

At the end of this page is a list of people who have graciously offered their help. Thank you all very much!
